Healing Through Food: Chia Seeds

Filled with nutrients, chia seeds have recently risen in popularity as an additional ingredient in breakfast treats with numerous health benefits.

Chia seeds have endless benefits with their various micronutrients. From fiber and protein to calcium, they are an all-around excellent choice. The omega-3 fatty acids promote heart health, lowering the risk of heart disease. Its nutrients also help maintain strong bones as well as reduce blood sugar levels.

Since they do not have a strong flavor profile, chia seeds are easy to add to any meal. It is most commonly added to breakfast foods such as yogurt, parfaits, or smoothies. You can also make chia seed pudding or include them in baked goods. 

Chia Seed Overnight Oats

- 4 tablespoons Licha (or oats)
- 1 teaspoon chia seed
- 1/2 cup of milk
- natural greek yogurt
- apple, blueberries, banana
- granola
