Vale's Church Impact in La Cumbre School!

Every year Vale's Church brings all their energy to support La Cumbre school and this year wasn't the exception. Led by Deb Cohen a group of 13 wonderful people full of smiles and creativity came to work and share with the kids in the highlands during a week.

A sailboat made of pinewood was one of the activities they worked with the kids, we enjoyed to see all the kids putting their creativity to paint their sailboats and we also enjoyed the racing event where they showed us their beautiful boats! One of the things that makes Vale's church group special is that they always leave a piece of their hearts in the school and we can see that because the kids love them all and they love to have them a week in their school! Vale's church always brings a new project that makes every kid very happy and that helps them to improve their skills in many different areas.

The Salvation bracelet was another nice project that they were working during the week and every kid received their own bracelet!

We only have mentioned two projects but the last one and not less important was a project for the sixth and fifth graders and also for the women who are part of the women circle in that community. Vale's church taught them how to make crochet hats and they also provide them all the tools and materials that they needed to knit their own hat. The women learned the technique so fast and a few of them were able to knit two hats!!

We were impressed to see all the children knitting and it was even more impressing to see the boys very interested in learning to knit because usually in these communities they think that knitting is only for women but they did an amazing job and at the end of the day all of them had a really nice hat that were able to take it home!

Thank you Vale’s Church to be a blessing for all the children and for this community, we love to see how this community has grown with all the support that Vale gives them every year!
