2017 Dinner for Hope

The HSP Dinner for Hope is a wonderful opportunity for you and your members to enjoy an evening together while helping the Highland Support Project (HSP) change lives in indigenous communities in Guatemala and Arizona. HSP projects meet needs identified by the communities themselves and empower them to succeed. Every dollar raised goes to HSP’s grassroots and holistic approach to tackling the culture of dependency that has trapped many rural communities.  Since the early 1990s, HSP has built nearly 10,000 cookstoves to families in Guatemala, a health clinic, a school cafeteria, a complete sanitation system and organic gardening projects in Arizona.  This year, we continue to tackle maternal health and well-being through the midwife program in Guatemala. In Arizona, we are working with the White Mountain Apache Tribe on establishing structured internships and mentoring for youth in a population battling one of the highest suicide rates in the world.  This will provide summer employment with job training, skill development and mentoring.  All needs and projects are determined and directed by the local people – this is a major differentiator to other NGOs.

We sincerely hope you will consider participating as a Table Host or as a Sponsor for the Dinner for Hope evening. All proceeds from this event will fund much-needed mentoring services on the White Mountain Apache reservation in Arizona and programs for the Midwifery education program in Guatemala.  This truly unique event is part dinner, part auction, part awareness - but all gratifying!!

Jesus changed the world by changing people. Through your thoughtful attendance and donations, we can join him by giving to these projects, knowing that empowering people is our real project.  Please let us know by May 5th if you wish to support this event or host a table of 6 guests.
